The Security Service of Ukraine exposed two fighters from the so-called “DPR” (Donetsk People Republic – ed.) in Pokrovsk, Donetsk Region.

The SSU reported that they came to the village for reconnaissance and subversion.

The SSU found IDs of illegal armed groups’ participants and an arsenal of automatic weapons and ammunition that were hidden by the detainees in a secret place.

According to the investigation, the suspects turned out to be two local residents who in 2014 joined the ranks of the terrorist groups Vostok and Slavyanskaya Brigade.

Under the leadership of the leader with the call sign “Motorola,” they took an active part in hostilities against Ukrainian troops near Kramatorsk.

The fighters, being part of enemy mortar crews, covered the retreat from Slavyansk units of the Russian militant Igor “Strelkov” Girkin.

Before the start of the full-scale invasion, they were “transferred” to the part of Donetsk Region controlled by the Ukrainian authorities.

There they were in the “standby mode” of subsequent tasks from their Russian “curators” and tried to hide among the residents of Pokrovsk.

However, SSU officers worked ahead of the curve: they established the location of the militants and detained them.

In addition to documents and weapons, they found means of communication with representatives of occupation groups.

The operation was carried out by the SSU officers of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural leadership of the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office.

Recall that the leader of the Russian proxies — Arsen Pavlov, nicknamed “Motorola” — was killed on October 16, 2016 in an elevator of a high-rise building in Donetsk.
