Sweden allows the Defense Forces of Ukraine to use the provided weapons for attacks on the territory of Russia.

Pål Jonson, Swedish Minister of Defense, stated this in his interview with Hallandsposten.

“Ukraine is the object of unprovoked and illegal aggressive war by Russia. According to international law, Ukraine has the right to defend itself through military actions directed against the enemy’s territory, if these actions comply with the laws and customs of war. Sweden supports international law and Ukraine’s right to self-defense,” he said.

On May 25, Militarnyi reported that the NATO Secretary General called for the lifting of the ban on the use of Western weapons to defeat facilities in Russia.

The Secretary General noted that this is important right now, when a significant part of the fighting is taking place in Kharkiv, near the border.

“Denying Ukraine the ability to use these weapons against legitimate military targets in Russian territory makes it very difficult to defend itself,” Stoltenberg added.

Recently, a group of U.S. Congressmen called for Ukraine to be allowed to use American weapons for attacks on Russian territory.

The appeal states that Ukrainians cannot defend themselves effectively due to the policy of the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden.

“It is important that the Biden administration provides the Ukrainian military leadership with the ability to conduct the full range of operations necessary to respond to Russia’s unprovoked attack on their sovereign land,” stated Congressmen in the letter.

Previously, such a request was made by the French parliamentarian, who called for lifting restrictions on strikes on the territory of Russia with weapons transmitted by France.

The politician wrote a letter to the French leadership, in which he called for abandoning “restraint and making a decision” following the example of the UK, which allowed Ukrainian troops to beat it with weapons in Russia.

At the same time, he stressed that neither France nor Ukraine’s other Western partners were willing to go to war with the Russian Federation.
