Taras Chmut, Head of the Come Back Alive Foundation, called on the US Congress to remove Ukraine from the Crime Control Column of the Commerce Control List.

Chmut, together with colleagues from the Serhiy Prytula Foundation, Razom for Ukraine, and Blue/Yellow for Ukraine, participated in hearings on the Ukrainian volunteer movement at the invitation of the Helsinki Commission of the U.S. Congress.

The event took place on December 7.

Taras Chmut had specifically shared that the foundation works to support and provide the Defense Forces of Ukraine with technical means for superiority on the battlefield.

“Everything we are doing is in response to the terrible war that takes dozens, if not hundreds, of lives daily. Equipment and weapons are continuously lost in the war. We must make up for those losses and replenish equipment as long as defenders of Ukraine continue to fight – and that includes Americans who joined this war as volunteers,” the Director of the Charitable Foundation emphasized.

He also stated that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the Come Back Alive Foundation has deepened its cooperation with American organizations, which purchased and transferred thousands of bulletproof vests, helmets, first-aid kits, and other essential items, which were in critical shortage since February 24, through their logistics network.

“That is why it is important to me during these hearings that the United States exclude Ukraine from the Crime Control column of the Commerce Control List,” Taras Chmut said.

According to the Director of the Charitable Foundation, this decision will allow expedited delivery of extremely important equipment for Ukraine. He cited holographic sights as an example.

As previously reported, during the eight months of the full-scale Russian invasion, the Come Back Alive Foundation collected over UAH 5 billion for the needs of the defenders of Ukraine.

With these funds, the Foundation has already provided 150 battalions with communication, transferring 14,837 radio stations, as well as 3,736 units of thermal imaging equipment, covering the needs of 100 units of the Defense Forces. The military also received many other equipment and supplies.

Previously, the Come Back Alive Foundation handed over mobile repair stations on MAN chassis to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The first two systems, each having a truck and a trailer with kungs and equipment, were given to the military units subordinate to the Command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
