The International Center for Peacemaking and Security of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Ground Forces Academy held the final stage of training a group of instructors of the grenade launcher M141 Bunker Define Munition, ArmiyInform reports.

During practical shooting from American grenade launchers, the servicemen not only hit targets, but also showed tactical actions in pairs.

Domestic and foreign journalists attended the event.

The Deputy Chief of the Department of Doctrine and Individual Training of the Main Directorate of Doctrine and Training of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel Andrii Bestiuk, noted that the peculiarity of military training was that it was organized and carried out in a very short time.

“The servicemen shot for the first time and their good results showed that even in such a short period of time people can be trained,” Colonel Andrii Bestiuk stressed.

Specialists of the 184th Training Center during the training combined the conditions for performing exercises on these weapons and the tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This, according to Colonel Andrii Bestiuk, ensured the adaptation of the Ukrainian military to American grenade launchers.

These instructors will subsequently conduct similar training in other training centers, their combat units and higher military educational institutions. At the end of January, the army began to master the American hand grenade launchers M141 Bunker Defeat Munition, which were recently handed over to Ukraine.

The M141 Bunker Defeat Munition (BDM) is a single-shot, shoulder-launched weapon designed to defeat hardened structures, make passages in barriers, walls of buildings. The grenade has an 83-mm high-explosive HEDP (High Explosive Dual Purpose), containing 1.1 kg of explosive, with a dual mode of operation of the detonator.

Although M141 optimized for use against fortifications, it is also capable of destroying unarmored and light armored vehicles. The projectile is capable of penetrating up to 200 mm (8 in) of concrete, 300 mm (12 in) of brick, or 2.1 m (6.9 ft) of sandbags.
