Czech specialists have developed and assembled a Bivoj reconnaissance drone, which will soon be available to be used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

ČTK reported about this.

The Czech side intends to hand over the drone to Ukraine. Jablotron co-owner Dalibor Dedek, who supports the campaign to purchase weapons for Ukraine, told this to the reporters.

For safety reasons, the company that was designing and manufacturing the device did not disclose its name. The agreement to transfer these new drones was facilitated by the Ukrainian Embassy in the Czech Republic.

“The first task of a drone is to provide accurate data so that Ukrainian artillery achieves the best results,” businessman Dedek explained.

The unmanned aerial vehicle is offered by the manufacturer in a standard configuration of three aircrafts, a control station, a tracking antenna or a satellite module and a catapult, from which the drone is launched.

The total weight of the Bivoj is 25 kilograms, and the wingspan is 3.3 meters. The drone can cover a distance of up to 50-60 kilometers and collect data for up to six hours.

According to the developers, even one person is enough to operate the drone. If the drone’s autopilot was set, it knows where to fly and what tasks to execute.

The Czech side is willing to transfer the Bivoj drones for free. That is why fundraising from the concerned citizens is ongoing. As of now, 14 million kroons were raised.

The cost of a complete set of two reconnaissance and “ten combat” units is 30 million kroons.

So far, the company has produced two surveillance drones, which Ukraine can be receiving in a few weeks.

The Czech company is also working on developing a combat drone.
