The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine liberates the Vovchansk aggregate plant from Russian invaders

The units of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) cleared the Vovchansk aggregate plant and neutralized the invaders in all the buildings of the enterprise.

On Tuesday, September 24, at 2:40 p.m., the commander of the Tymur special unit reported to Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, on the successful completion of the operation.

The special groups of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine participated in driving Russian troops out of the facility in the city center: Stuhna, Parahon, Russian Volunteer Corps, Junger, Belarusian Volunteer Corps, and Terror.

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine performed a systematic clearing of the plant’s buildings, constantly engaging in contact with the enemy in dense buildings. In some cases, Ukrainian special forces engaged the enemy in hand-to-hand combat.

“The Russians turned the aggregate plant into their propaganda “fortress”, using the most motivated and professional units in its defense, including even soldiers of the 45th Brigade of the Russian Airborne Forces (Kubinka, Moscow),” the DIU noted

The soldiers noted that the invaders continuously used a significant amount of artillery, kamikaze attack drones, guided bombs, and Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower systems to fight off the assaults.

As a result of the operation, the reconnaissance men killed the Russian military at the facility and took prisoners of war. The territory of the aggregate plant was transferred to the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after all 30 buildings of the facility were cleared.

The Vovchansk aggregate plant

The Russian military seized the territory of the enterprise, located in the center of Vovchansk, during the May offensive in the Kharkiv region. The invaders turned it into a stronghold in the battles for the city.

However, at the end of June, it was reported that, as a result of hasty counterattacks, Ukrainian forces had advanced in the city and taken fire control of all approaches to the plant. This greatly complicated the supply of food, ammunition, and fresh forces to the garrison stationed there.

In particular, some Russian military bloggers reported that the facility was completely surrounded by Ukrainian troops. All this time, the plant was being attacked by unmanned aerial systems and bombs.

Militarnyi previously reported that in Russia, soldiers of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, who were involved in organizing torture camps in the occupied territories of Ukraine, were neutralized.
