A batch of trucks has arrived in Ukraine from the European Union for the needs of the Ukrainian military.

Josep Borrell, Head of European diplomacy, announced this.

According to him, the vehicles arrived on Friday, February 3.

Ukraine has also received ambulances.

Automotive equipment is supplied under the assistance program within the framework of the European Peace Facility (EPF).

“Another concrete example of support to Ukrainian Armed Forces to defend their territory, sovereignty and population. Today new off-road trucks arrived in UA under the EPF,” Josep Borrell wrote on Twitter.

A total of 13 new off-road trucks to transport military personnel, 94 off-road trucks and 50 ambulances were delivered to Ukraine.

Borrell adds that “there will be more” in the future. He also emphasizes that the European Union will support Ukraine as much as necessary.

The European Union has previously transferred trucks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular, to support medical, engineering and logistical units.

The European Peace Fund (EPF) was established in March 2021 to better ensure the safety of EU citizens and association partners. The work of the fund allows the European Union to provide all types of equipment and infrastructure to the armed forces of partners of the European Union.

The EPF is an off-budget tool aimed at enhancing the EU’s ability to prevent conflict, build peace and strengthen international security by funding operational action within the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) in the military and defense sectors.

It should be recalled that on February 3, the Council of the European Union continued support for Ukraine at the official level in the form of military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and personnel training. A total amount of €545 million was allocated for these needs.
