The first Ukrainian-Polish Defense Industry Forum convened
Several events aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities took place on the sidelines of the MSPO 2024 International Defense Industry Exhibition, which was recently held in the Polish city of Kielce.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on this.
The first Ukrainian-Polish Defense Industries Forum was held during the exhibition.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry delegation, headed by Deputy Minister Oleksandr Serhiy, included weapons and military equipment experts from the Ukrainian Army and Air Force.
It is noted that the Ukrainian delegation held a number of meetings with representatives of the military departments of individual countries and global defense companies.
Technical discussions were also held with the world’s leading manufacturers of weapons and military equipment from the United States, Norway, Finland, France, Australia, the United Kingdom, Poland, and other countries.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation thanked the allies for their large-scale support in the fight against the Russian invasion and informed about the urgent needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
“The priorities include air defense systems, unmanned systems for various purposes, electronic warfare (EW) systems, and ammunition and individual components for their production in Ukraine,” the Defense Ministry said.
They also discussed the organization of repair of foreign weapons and military equipment in Ukraine.
The preparation and signing of arms cooperation agreements with Norway and Canada have been agreed upon.
According to the Deputy Minister of Defense, they discussed the need to intensify work to meet the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and to implement important projects to provide long-term support to the Ukrainian army.
The Defense Ministry noted that to strengthen the Defense Forces in the fight against the Russian invaders, Ukraine is negotiating with its allies to establish joint defense enterprises and purchase weapons for the army from domestic manufacturers.
