The Houthis launched a ballistic missile at Tel Aviv

The Yemeni Houthis launched at least one ballistic missile at the Israeli city of Tel Aviv in the morning.

The IDF reported that a surface-to-surface missile launched from the “east” caused sirens throughout the center of Israel.

According to the military, the ballistic missile landed in an open area, causing no injuries.

Later, the IDF issued another statement, indicating that the ballistic missile was launched from Yemen.

Five people were injured while running for shelter. They were evacuated to hospitals in a light condition.

The IDF also admits that the PRO Arrow 3 system could have missed the missile outside Israeli airspace.

In turn, the Arrow 2 system shot it down over Israeli airspace on the second attempt.

In July, the leader of the Yemeni Houthi group, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, claimed in a television speech that his armed group would launch new attacks on the Israeli city of Tel Aviv.

“I confirm that there will be new military operations against Tel Aviv,” Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said at the time.

A week before his speech, the Houthis claimed responsibility for a drone attack on a building in Tel Aviv that killed one person and injured ten others.

In response, Israeli fighter jets hit fuel depots in the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah, which is under Houthi control.

In August, it was reported that Russia was preparing to deliver missiles and other military equipment to the Houthi rebels in Yemen but, under pressure from the United States and Saudi Arabia, decided not to do so.
