The Netherlands is preparing the sixth aid package within the European Peace Fund for Ukraine. This includes €500 million to be allocated to support destroyed military equipment.

The Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands announced this.

“The Netherlands is participating in the EU training mission. An additional €500 million will also be provided to support the war-torn country’s military equipment. This is the sixth package. The money would come from the European Peace Fund,” stated the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands.

The announced training would cover the participation of the Netherlands in the training mission of the European Union, which was approved by the ministers of foreign affairs of the EU on October 17. 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers should be trained during these exercises.

Kajsa Ollongren, Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, noted that the country is considering the possibility of including the Dutch-German mine clearance training in the EU training mission.

“In this way, we are facilitating the accession of other EU member states. We are also discovering other possibilities to offer trainers and training courses,” claimed Kajsa Ollongren, Minister of Defense of the Netherlands.

She also emphasized that the Ukrainian military is showing significant progress and emphasized the need to continue supporting the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

“Supplying weapons and ammunition pays off, as does training the Ukrainian military so that they can optimally use and maintain their weapons. We witness that Ukraine will benefit from all this progress in the military field,” she added.

Previously, after Russia attacked Ukraine’s energy system, the Netherlands announced the provision of air defense equipment to Ukraine for a total of €15 million.

They did not disclose which missiles were included in this aid, yet they noted that those are suitable for air defense systems already provided to Ukraine by another unnamed country.

Presumably, Ukraine would be receiving missiles for the NASAMS medium-range anti-aircraft missile system, which is in service with the Netherlands.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the NASAMS systems of the Netherlands are using AIM-120B anti-aircraft missiles (AMRAAM).

AMRAAM missiles are the primary air-to-air weapons of all types of modern American military fighters.

The NASAMS SAM became the first ground-based system to use AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles.
