Ukrainian paratroopers have assumed their positions in the Pripyat area and taken control of the Ukrainian-belarusian border.

Militarnyi reports about this with reference to the Command of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.

As evidence, Ukrainian Air Assault Forces released a photo of a paratrooper holding a Ukrainian flag with the arch of the Shelter facility above the 4th ChNPP power unit in the background.

The Chornobyl Exclusion Zone had been under russian occupation since the first days of the invasion. Chernobyl was captured on February 24, 2022.

The station staff was held hostage by the russians.

Slavutych is a satellite city of the ChNPP and had long been surrounded by russian troops. Later, on March 26, ruscists entered the city but stayed there for only a few days. During this time, they killed three Ukrainians.

The russians started their retreat to belarus from the Chornobyl nuclear power plant and Slavutych on March 31, 2022.

The russians also took along the captured National Guard Servicemen that were guarding the Chornobyl nuclear power plant.

Previously, it was brought to knowledge that some of the russian invaders were irradiated because they were trying to entrench in one of the most dangerous locations of the Exclusion Zone – the Red Forest. Now, russians with radiation sickness symptoms are staying in a specialized hospital in Gomel.
