The US Department of Defense denied reports that Russia has placed its laser weapons systems in Ukraine.

John Kirby, Pentagon spokesman, stated this during a briefing on Friday.

The Pentagon claims it has no confirmation of Russian statements on the alleged use in Ukraine of the weaponized laser latest developments that are able to shoot down, in particular, air targets.

“We do not have any indication of using lasers, at least weaponized lasers, in Ukraine,” – said the representative of the Department of Defense of the United States.

Kirby added that confirmation of the Russian claims about the laser use simply does not exist.

Recently, the Russian invaders claimed that they are allegedly using laser weapons system called “Zadyra” in Ukraine. According to them, this regards the laser weapons that are supposedly capable of “physically hitting air targets, saving expensive missiles.”

Russia boasts a new generation of laser weapons, including a mobile laser system, which per their statements could hit a target at a distance of up to 5 km.

However, Russia has not specified in which parts of the battlefield they are using these weapons, as well as did not report their successes.

Yesterday, the Russians launched a missile strike on the city of Lozova in the Kharkiv region. The rocket targeted the restored cultural center.

“The invaders identified our culture, education, and humanity as their enemy. And neither missiles nor bombs spare to hit them,” said the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

As a result of the shelling, seven people were injured, including an 11-year-old child.

Lozova is located in the southern part of the Kharkiv region. The settlement houses an important connective railway station.
