Soldiers of the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down two Russian ZALA 421-16E reconnaissance drones in different parts of the frontline.

Militarnyi reports on this.

Ukrainian military and radio engineering expert Serhii Beskrestnov, who goes by the call sign “Flash,” posted a video of the destruction of a Russian UAV on his Telegram channel.

The footage captures a Ukrainian FPV drone catching up with the Russian ZALA 421-16E drone.

Because communication with the FPV was cut off at a short distance from the enemy reconnaissance UAV, it can be assumed that the Ukrainian drone hit the target. It is possible that the interceptor drone had the function of aerially detonating a warhead.

An OSINT analyst with the nickname EjShahid on X (Twitter) determined that the Russian ZALA drone was defeated north of Tokarivka in the Kherson region.

However, the date of the incident and who exactly shot down the Russian UAV are currently unknown.

Another Russian ZALA 421-16E drone was shot down by soldiers of the anti-aircraft missile battery of the 77th Airmobile Brigade.

A photo of the damaged reconnaissance drone was posted on the pages of the military unit on social media.

“This type of UAV is very dangerous because it works in tandem with attack drones. It detects places of concentration of personnel and equipment and adjusts loitering munitions of the Lancet type,” a soldier with the call sign “John” said.

However, the Ukrainian paratroopers did not disclose what weapons were used to shoot down the Russian ZALA UAV. Observers monitoring the course of hostilities of the Russian-Ukrainian war found out that it took place in the Luhansk region.

Recently, the Russian invaders have also started complaining about the interception of their reconnaissance drones by Ukrainian hunting drones. At the end of June, the Black Swan Strike Group of the 225th Assault Battalion released a video of an operator ramming a Russian Autel drone, causing it to crash.
