The stage of the military transport aircraft AN-178 construction manufactured for Ukrainian Army was showed

The Antonov State Enterprise demonstrated to journalists the stage of the first AN-178-100R military transport aircraft construction, which was manufactured for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Photos with future military aircrafts were released by Alexander Mamay, journalist of Apostrophe TV.

Three AN-178-100R aircrafts are to be handed over to the military and promised to do so in time.

The preliminary collection of the first AN-178 for the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense began in 2021. The aircraft is planned to be handed over to the customer in the spring of 2023.

The stage of the second aircraft АN-178-100R construction for the Armed Forces with the number 008 was also showed.

The Antonov State Enterprise received 3 billion hryvnias of a loan for construction, because there was no money in the budget for the purchase.

The enterprise has signed contracts with a hundred suppliers. Two dozen of them are Ukrainian companies.

Part of purely military systems, such as heat flares, communications systems, friend-or-foe systems, will be installed on the Antonov State Enterprise after the construction of aircraft, because they are not included in the contract.

Recall, on December 28, the first fully domestic military transport aircraft An-178-100R №001, which build for flight and certification tests, was rolled out at Antonov SE.

AN-178 military transport can be used to transport personnel, deliver weapons and light military hardware by landing and parachute methods, as well as for transportation of goods.
