A video featuring the Ukrainian military with French AMX-10RC armoured fighting vehicles was published on social media.
The released footage features the servicemen mastering the equipment.
The military is testing the hydraulic capabilities of the armoured fighting vehicle.
The AMX-10 RC has a 6×6 wheel arrangement and is equipped with a hydropneumatic suspension system with variable ground clearance and inclination. Therefore, the combat vehicle can effectively disguise itself in the terrain.
In mid-March, Sébastien Lecornu, Minister of Defense of France, announced that the equipment had arrived in Ukraine and emphasized that some AMX-10RCs were already sent to the front.
Lecornu also noted that this was the first delivery of armored vehicles, and that the decision to teansfer the second batch was in progress.
France decided to transfer the AMX-10RC to Ukraine at the beginning of January this year.
In February, it was reported that the first batch consisting of 14 armoured fighting vehicles was shipped to Ukraine.
According to the sources of Army Recognition, the Ukrainian military should receive 30 AMX-10 RC.
The French AMX-10 RC armored fighting vehicle is manufactured by GIAT. These vehicles have high mobility due to their wheelbases.
They can be used for reconnaissance missions and provide infantry fire support in combat.
It is armed with a 105/47 F2 MECA 105mm rifled tank gun, capable of firing at a range of up to 2000 meters. The gun’s armament consists of its own 105×527R caliber ammunition, including APFSDS, HEAT-FS, and high-explosive and fragmentation ammunition.
In addition to the tank gun, the armored vehicle is armed with two 7.62 mm machine guns.
The AMX-10 RC has aluminum bulletproof armor with additional high-hardness steel shields. The weight of the armoured fighting vehicle is 20 tons, which is two tons lighter than the Ukrainian BTR-4 infantry fighting vehicle.
