The United States handed over 21 armored vehicles along with financial aid to the National Police and border guards

The United States handed over 21 armored vehicles to the Ukrainian border guards and National police to protect and transport personnel.

U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics & Law Enforcement (INL) announced this on Twitter.

The INL section of the United States Embassy in Kyiv handed over 21 armored vehicles to the State Border Guard Service and the National Police of Ukraine.

Vehicles are designed for the protection of the personnel of law enforcement agencies.

$185 million in financial assistance was also provided.

“Like its military, Ukraine’s Border Guards and Police are bravely fighting against Russia’s horrific invasion. INL has provided $185 million in assistance to Ukraine’s border guards and National police, recently donating 21 armored vehicles to protect them,” the statement reads.

Back in early February, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine received the first SUVs under the project of international technical assistance from the U.S. Government.

A batch of forty new Mitsubishi L200 pickups had arrived at the Separate Commandant’s Office of Security and Enforcement of the State Border Guard Service in Kyiv.

The supply of vehicles for the Ukrainian border guards occurred under the program “Strengthening the capacity of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in the field of security of the northern and eastern borders of Ukraine.”

US technical assistance is aimed at improving the effectiveness of the activities of units in the implementation of tasks aimed at protecting the northern and eastern state borders of Ukraine and effectively combatting threats to national security.

Previously, the Defense Forces of Ukraine received new Senator armored personnel carriers.

Armored personnel carriers were handed over to Ukraine by the Government of Canada.
