The surveillance aircraft with the transponder turned on was spotted first over Greece, then through Bulgaria and Romania the Global Hawk flew into the airspace of the Chernivtsi region, Ukraine.

Further, the RQ-4 went to the reconnaissance of the border with Belarus, then Russia and further to the reconnaissance of Donbas and Crimea.

Ukraine allows foreign planes and unmanned aerial vehicles into its airspace to monitor the situation in the occupied territories of Donbas and Crimea. The data obtained are subsequently transferred to the Ukrainian servicemen.

In January 2022, the US Global Hawk monitored Ukraine’s border with Belarus and Russia for the first time.

The E-8 Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System and the RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft also operate periodically over Ukraine.

Recall that recently on the territory of the Republic of Belarus began the Russian-Belarusian military exercises Union Resolve-2022.

It stated that the purpose of the trainings is to work out the tasks of stopping “external aggression” during the conduct of a defense operation, counter-terrorism and protecting the interests of the “Union State.”

Six warships of the Baltic and Northern Fleets of the Russian Navy have already arrived to take part in the Russian maneuvers: three warships of the Baltic Fleet – the Korolev, the Minsk and the Kaliningrad and three of the Northern Fleet – the Pyotr Morgunov, the Georgiy Pobedonosets and the Olenegorsk Gornyak. The last three ships passed the Bosphorus Strait on Wednesday.
