The Ukrainian military captured the Russian latest electronic warfare system Silok-01.

Soldiers of the Ukrainian 128th Mountain Assault Brigade reported that the Russian EW system was ineffective.

“As it turned out, such equipment is effective only at Russian training grounds,” the military said.

Photos of the captured EW system were published on the Brigade’s Facebook page.

The anti-UAVs Silok system was first presented at the Army-2018 military-technical forum at the Sverdlovsk training ground in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

The manufacturer claims that it automatically detects drones, determines their coordinates, and suppresses them at different ranges of operating frequencies.

The EW Silok system allegedly affects control channels, telemetry and drone communications.

The Silok-01 radio suppression system should provide protection of control posts from unauthorized entry into the area of cover against radio-controlled aircraft.

The exact features of the system are unknown.

Nevertheless, it was reported that Silok is able to suppress UAV equipment at a distance of more than 4 km from its location.

This is not the first case when Ukrainian forces made contact with the Silok-01 electronic warfare system. In June 2022, the National Guard’s drone spotted this EW system in the Kharkiv region and then destroyed it.

Silok was developed by the Sozvezdye defense concern and was first used in Syria, as well as during military exercises in recent years.
