Turkey is to supply armored personnel carriers to Georgia
The Ministry of Defense of Georgia made an agreement with the Turkish company ASFAT on the supply of armored personnel carriers.
This is stated in the report on the website of the defense department of Georgia.
It is noted that the contract provides for the delivery to Georgia of new armored vehicles according to NATO standards.
“Armored vehicles with their equipment and subsystems meet NATO standards. Equipping the Georgian Defense Forces with the mentioned armored vehicles will significantly contribute to strengthening Georgia’s defense capability and deepening cooperation between Turkey and Georgia,” the statement said.
The kind of vehicles and their number have not been revealed.
ASFAT is a Turkish state defense company. It unites 27 military factories and 3 state shipyards. ASFAT manufactures products and offers solutions that cover design, manufacturing, maintenance, and training.
It should be reminded that in Turkey, the Hetman Ivan Mazepa corvette of the Ada class was launched, which is being built for the Ukrainian fleet.
