Turkish military gets another 3 Akinci UAVs
Baykar has supplied three more Akinci drones.
This was announced by Ismail Demir, President of the Defence Industry Agency of Turkey, on Twitter.
He stressed that delivery took place without delay.
“We continue production without slowing down to increase the dominance of our security forces in the sky. Finally we delivered 3 more Akinci,” he wrote.
New UAVs will become operational in the Turkish army.
“The new Akinci UAVs of our sky are working,” the company emphasized.

The forces where the new drones will be transferred were not specified.
It is now known that the Turkish Air Force received 6 such UAVs in August this year.
Developed and manufactured by Baykar Turkey, Akinci strategic strike drones entered service in August 2021.
Akinci
The drone is equipped with АІ-450 engines, developed by the Ukrainian SE “Ivchenko-Progress” from Zaporizhzhia. In the summer of 2021, they raised the unmanned aerial vehicle to an altitude of 11,500 meters.
The wingspan of the Akinci UAV reaches 20 meters, the maximum takeoff weight is 4,500 kg.
The expected endurance is up to 24 hours. Among the nomenclature of Akinci weapons are guided missiles and bombs, electronic reconnaissance and EW systems.
On December 22, 2022, the Akinci drone conducted a bomb test with a new GOKCE guidance kit.
During the test, Akinci hit the target with a MK-83 bomb (approximately 455 kg), which was equipped with a GOKCE kit.
The target was hit by a laser from Akinci at an altitude of about 6 kilometers.
