Joe Biden, President of the United States of America, signed a bill on additional appropriations to Ukraine in the war with Russia.

The White House reports about this.

Biden is currently doing a visit to South Korea, so the bill was flown there from the United States for him to sign.

U.S. President Joe Biden has signed a law providing $40 billion in assistance to Ukraine by the end of the fiscal year 2022, that is, by September 30.

“On Saturday, May 21, 2022, the President signed into law H.R. 7691, the ‘Additional Ukraine Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2022,’ which provides supplemental emergency appropriations for the fiscal year 2022 to Federal agencies to respond to the situation in, and for assistance to, Ukraine,” the statement reads.

On May 19, the U.S. Senate approved a bill to provide Ukraine with funds for military and economic assistance.

On May 10, the bill was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives.

The bill allocates nearly $20 billion for the Pentagon – three billion more than originally requested by the White House.

The new aid package commits $6 billion in weapons for Ukraine, including training, equipment, and support, and over $8 billion to replenish US military supplies, which have declined due to arms being supplied to Ukraine.

Over $8 billion will be assigned to the economic support of Ukraine and related issues.

As previously reported, the United States is handing over additional 155-mm howitzers to Ukraine. On Thursday, May 19, the United States announced the provision of another security package of assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $100 million.
