UAVs, communication devices, and armored vehicles can now be imported into Ukraine without paying the VAT and import duties
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine had passed the relevant amendments to the Tax Code. Drones, materials for the manufacturing of body armor, and communication equipment can now be imported to Ukraine using exemptions.
Militarnyi reports about this.
The approved changes should simplify the work of the volunteers. The necessary goods can now be delivered to Ukraine faster.
“Through the joint efforts of the state leadership, the Government, and the Parliament, the technical capacity of our defenders can now be increased. After all, we are defending Ukraine, our entire nation. We must make every effort to destroy the enemy in our territory and restore our territorial integrity and sovereignty,” said Yulia Laputina, Minister of Veterans Affairs.
The complete list of goods that are now eligible for exemptions include:
- threads and fabrics (materials) for the manufacture of body armor and helmets;
- flat-rolled products from other alloy steel, with a width of 600 mm or more, used for the manufacture of body armor;
- safety glass, including tempered or laminated glass;
- optical surveillance devices;
- equipment for the transmission and reception of voice, image, and other types of information, including equipment for communication within the wired or wireless communication networks, directional listening equipment, ultra-short wave, and shortwave radios for military use, reconnaissance and signaling equipment, details, and accessories thereof in the product subcategory;
- unmanned aerial vehicles;
- meteorological stations;
- armored vehicles and cars, other motor vehicles intended primarily for the transport of persons, including goods-and-passenger vehicles.
Previously, in late March, the Government passed a resolution that would consider drones, optics, and radio stations purchased abroad by volunteers the humanitarian aid.
