Ukraine Forces Repulse Russian Tanks and Infantry Near Novomykhailivka

Ukrainian troops successfully repelled a Russian armored assault near Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.

The footage of the drone attack was released by the Ukrainian Shadow unit.

“Another ‘successful’ Russian assault on Novomykhailivka,” the unit said.

The Russian command sent a T-72B tank and a T-62MV tank to assault the settlement.

Russian infantry moved on MT-LB armored personnel carriers, which were modified by adding open landing compartments.

The APCs followed the tanks, which were making their way to the Ukrainian positions.

The Russian invaders immediately began to turn back when the Ukrainian military began shelling the convoy.

Some MT-LB armored personnel carriers crashed into other vehicles while trying to drive back.

During the battle, Ukrainian forces targeted Russian tanks and armored personnel carriers, prompting the Russian infantry to swiftly retreat from the battlefield.

However, some invaders tried to dig holes under the damaged armored vehicles and take up positions there.

On February 5, 2024, the Ukrainian General Staff stated that in the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, Prechystivka and Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region.

“The enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defense of our troops 34 times,” the General Staff noted.
