Ukraine is to receive a new batch of Caesar ACS from France

France will provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a new batch of 155-mm Caesar self-propelled howitzers.

This was announced by French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna.

The Foreign Minister noted that France is very helpful to Ukraine in defense, military, in this regard maintains contacts with the Ukrainian authorities and knows the needs of the Ukrainian side and what opportunities France has to be able to respond to these requests.

The Minister reminded that the President of France Emmanuel Macron had recently confirmed the response to such a request from the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky for prolonging French military assistance.

“There will be new deliveries of Caesar ACS soon, and we will continue to work together in this context,” Colonna said.

Also, Caesar self-propelled howitzers are not the only weapon coming to Ukraine from France.

This was stated by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba at a joint briefing with his French counterpart Catherine Colonna in Kyiv.

The head of Ukrainian diplomacy noted France’s leadership and sincere desire to help Ukraine win the war against Russia. In this context, he recalled the positive comments from the Ukrainian servicemen, including the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi, about the French Caesar howitzers.

“I stressed today that the need to provide Ukraine with additional 155-caliber artillery systems remains extremely urgent. To win the battle of Donbas, we need to significantly strengthen our artillery potential, so today we have discussed this issue with my colleague,” Kuleba said.

He also noted that Caesar howitzers are not the only weapon coming from France, and Ukraine is very grateful for all kinds of weapons.

As it was previously reported, the Caesar ACS is used by the artillerymen of the 55th Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Caesar ACS is a French 155mm self-propelled howitzer developed by GIAT Industries. Barrel length – 52 calibers. It holds 18 rounds. Fire rate – 6 shots per minute. Caesar is compatible with the full range of NATO 155-mm artillery shells.
