Ukraine’s Armed Forces captured the latest Russian Т-90М “Proryv” tank in Kharkiv Region

The Ukrainian military captured the most modern Russian Т-90М “Proryv” tank in the Kharkiv Region.

The photos of the captured tank were published by the Ukrainian tankman on his Shawshank Redemption Youtube channel.

The Т-90М “Proryv” tank fell into the Ukrainian forces without visible damage.

Most likely, the tank was abandoned by the Russian military during a hasty retreat from the Kharkiv Region.

The captured tank is also equipped with a radar-absorbent material (RAM) camouflage known as Nakidka.

For the first time, the involvement of Russian forces in the Kharkiv Region of Т-90М “Proryv” tanks became known in April.

The first Т-90М tank was destroyed by the Ukrainian force in May 2022, on the outskirts of the village of Staryi Saltiv, Kharkiv Region.

The Russian army received the first batch of these tanks only in 2020. The first batch was transferred to the 2nd Guards Taman Motorized Rifle Division of the 1st Guards Tank Army.

Т-90М “Proryv” (object 188М – ed.) was developed as part of the R&D “Proryv-3” and is an upgraded version of the Russian Т-90 MBT, which in turn is an upgrade of the Soviet-era Т-72 tank.

These main battle tanks received a fundamentally new turret and a more powerful engine. The tanks were equipped with a new multi-channel sight, ensuring the use of weapons at any time of the day.
