Ukrainian developers have demonstrated flight tests of a jet drone designed to intercept air targets.

This was reported by the Military Journal Telegram channel.

According to the MJs information, the Bullet unmanned aerial vehicle system is designed specifically to combat enemy reconnaissance and attack drones and helicopters.

In the footage released, an experimental airplane-type drone takes off from a concrete pavement, performs flight maneuvers, and then lands.

According to telemetry data, the drone reached a speed of about 130 km/h during the flight. This speed is insufficient to intercept air targets, but considering the use of a jet engine, the actual maximum speed can be many times higher.

The drone used a camera similar to those in FPV drones.

It is reported that the cost of such a complex is UAH 5.8 million ($140 thousand). It includes a ground control station and 5 aircraft.

Interceptor drones

In April 2024, Militarnyi reported that Ukrainian developers introduced a model of a barrage munition that can strike targets at an operational and tactical depth of 100+ kilometers.

Its main feature should be multitasking, which will allow it to hunt enemy drones. Equipped with an electric motor, the drone can reach speeds of up to 180 km/h and intercept Russian Orlan-10, Zala, and Lancet UAVs.

However, while full-fledged models of anti-aircraft drones are still being tested, Ukrainian engineers have already adapted common FPV copters for these tasks.

Having worked out the tactics of detection and interception, the Ukrainian military began to use these drones successfully and on a large scale, which brought the first results on the battlefield and in the rear in early summer.

In recent months, Ukrainian drones have destroyed more than one Russian reconnaissance aircraft in the air, including ZALA, Orlan-10, and even the Lancet loitering munition.
