Ukraine will receive a Role II field hospital from Estonia
The Estonian government will hand over a modern Role II field hospital for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Militarnyi reports with reference to the Command of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Role II mobile hospital provides modern on-site medical support.
Brigadier General of the Medical Service Tetiana Ostashchenko, the Commander of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is taking part in the 14th Annual Conference on Military Conflict and Disaster Medicine held in Estonia.
As part of the conference, which was opened by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Estonia Kalle Laanet, a demonstration of a modern mobile hospital “Role II” took place.
It is reported that the Estonian side plans to transfer this type of hospital to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the near future.
The issues of the Armed Forces of Ukraine medical personnel professional training abroad for their further work in such mobile hospitals was also discussed.
After the event, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Estonia expressed his support for Ukraine in its steadfast position in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Role II
The field hospital is a key element in providing assistance to wounded personnel.
It’s designated to identify, stabilize and, if necessary, to provide surgery to wounded personnel before their delivery to the hospital.
Usually this type of hospital includes: tents, containers or, as a rule, both; outpatient department; several wards, including isolation wards and intensive care units; surgery room, including presurgery and postsurgery areas; dental department; laboratory and radiological departments; support and administration of the hospital.
It will be recalled that in 2020, the Estonian Defense Forces handed over ammunition for Makarov pistol to Ukraine. The exact number of ammunition transferred to Ukraine is not disclosed.
