At the NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs meeting in Bucharest, the allies announced the transfer of 155 mm artillery, shells, and armored vehicles to Ukraine.

Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, announced this.

At the meeting, the countries’ new contributions to Ukrainian energy security, including transformers, generators, weapons, and winter uniforms, were announced.

“I cannot announce all of it, but these items include 155-mm artillery, shells, armored vehicles – they will soon arrive in Ukraine and strengthen our Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Kuleba said.

The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasized that he thanked all the states that were unanimous in the fact that they will stand with Ukraine as long as it is necessary.

“This is an extremely strong signal, previously we did not have such unanimous support on this particular point… The war could last a short, medium, long time, but they will be with us as long as it is necessary,” Kuleba noted.

The Minister added that he asked the allies to be with Ukraine not only as long as necessary, but also to provide Ukraine with everything it needs and as quickly as it is required.

Tanks

The Head of the Foreign Ministry drew attention to the fact that he called for a decision on the transfer of the Western tanks to Ukraine.

“I gave a very simple example that since the beginning of the war, there have always been some psychological barriers to supply the weapons: first we were not provided with artillery, then we were not provided with MLRS, then something else. And now, all that is being supplied to us. But those decisions were made after some tragedy occurred at the front, and there was no other choice but to make this decision. Therefore I said: change the logic, don’t wait until something bad happens, make this decision now to prevent a bad development of events, to, on the contrary, act proactively and free even more territories and Ukrainian citizens,” Kuleba said.

As previously reported, Ukrainian diplomats continue making efforts to negotiate with representatives of Germany on Leopard 2 tanks.

Back in July, Oleksii Reznikov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, discussed the prospects for obtaining these tanks, likely from Spain. Then, he shared about the agreement with one of the friendly countries to supply this type of weapon.

In early August, the Spanish government decided not to transfer Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, since they are “in an improper state.”
