Ukraine will receive NASAMS launchers from Lithuania in September
In September, Lithuania will reinforce Ukraine’s air defense with the new NASAMS air defense system launchers.
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda also noted that his country would support Ukraine until victory.
These statements were made during Gitanas Nausėda’s visit to Kyiv to participate in the third summit of the international Crimean Platform.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky thanked his counterpart for his personal contribution to Lithuania’s comprehensive assistance to Ukraine.
The primary importance of military and technical assistance, including training and rehabilitation of the Ukrainian defense forces, was emphasized.

“Lithuania will supply Ukraine with NASAMS launchers next month,” Gitanas Nausėda announced at the meeting.
At the same time, the Lithuanian President did not specify how many launchers are planned to be transferred.
However, back in June, it was reported that the Lithuanian government purchased two NASAMS air defense system launchers for Ukraine.
“In response to Ukraine’s urgent request for assistance in strengthening its air defense, we are purchasing two NASAMS medium-range air defense launchers for the Ukrainian military,” the Lithuanian government stated at the time.
The government will also organize the delivery of the systems.

Additional launchers will be included in the systems already deployed on the territory of Ukraine.
They should increase the maximum number of ready-to-launch missiles for the air defense system, which may be necessary in the event of mass missile attacks.
