Ukraine will receive UOS Belarty on a T-55 chassis for demining
CSM Industry will supply Ukraine with the UOS Belarty universal mine clearance vehicle on the T-55 tank chassis.
The Slovakian company said it would send an improved version of the UOS 155 Belarty II.
UOS 155BelartyII can work in a full robotic GPS model by AI.
The UOS Belarty is equipped with a demining device and is a hydraulically controlled system intended for engineering and demining work, neutralizing anti-personnel and anti-tank mines by hitting hammers.
The crew consists of two people: an engineer and a driver.
Anti-mine work with the telescopic boom enables the neutralization of anti-tank mines even in hard-to-reach places and terrain such as slopes and ditches.
In addition to demining, the vehicle can also be used for earthworks with a full set of additional work tools.
The T-55 tank chassis is fitted with a John Deere diesel engine. With an operating weight of 39,900 kg, the vehicle can reach speeds of up to 10 km/h off-road and 30 km/h on hard surfaces.
At the same time, the average fuel consumption is approximately 330 liters/100km (3.3 liters/km).
The vehicle can also serve as a lifting device for up to 7,000 kg.
These are not the only Slovak-made mine clearance vehicles to be delivered to Ukraine. The Ukrainian sappers have Bozena-4 and Bozena-5 demining systems in their arsenal.
In 2023, Slovakia also financed the production of Bozena-4 demining systems for Ukraine.
