Ukrainian air defense has shot down the Russian “Orion” UAV
Russia’s “Orion” heavy multi-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down over Ukraine.

On Friday, April 8th, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the destruction of three enemy targets. The day before they have also destroyed the newest multi-purpose drone of the invaders, said Yuriy Ihnat, Spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“On April 8th, anti-aircraft missile forces destroyed three air targets: a cruise missile, a UAV, and one helicopter. In addition, there is information from the Joint Forces Operation about another ruscists helicopter being shot down,” said the statement.
On April 7th, the Russian “Orion” UAV was shot down over Ukraine.

“There is good news about the results of the combat on April 7 – the newest “Orion” UAV of the invaders was shot down,” stated the Air Force of Ukraine.

The maximum take-off weight of the “Orion” UAV is about 1 ton, its flight duration is 30 hours, and its service ceiling is approximately 8,000 meters.
This unmanned aerial vehicle can carry a payload of up to 200 kilograms.
The declared arsenal of the drone includes Kh-50 guided low-capacity aircraft missiles and KAB-20 corrected air bombs:

Russia has also stated that such “Russian drones have the capacity of a fighter jet and can be destroying enemy drones.”
