The Ukrainian defense forces have liberated the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region from the Russian invaders.

Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar announced this on Monday, August 28.

After the liberation of this settlement, Ukrainian forces advanced to the next two villages.

“Robotyne has been liberated and our troops are moving southeast of this settlement,” said Maliar during a live broadcast from the Military Media Center.

According to her, Ukrainian troops are currently advancing toward Novoprokopivka and Ocheretuvate “despite fierce enemy resistance.”

As previously reported, on August 23, the Ukrainian Armed Forces raised the national flag over the village of Robotyne.

The flag was raised by the soldiers of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade, who had been fighting for the village in the Zaporizhzhia region for several months.

On August 22, Ukrainian authorities officially announced that the Armed Forces had entered Robotyne village. This is an important settlement, and heavy fighting for it has been going on for three months.

To protect the lives and health of civilians, the Ukrainian military evacuated local residents with the help of American Bradley armored personnel carriers.

Also, the Special operations forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine showcased how they knocked out the Russian invaders off the outskirts of Robotyne.

Robotyne is a small village of 3 square kilometers, where less than 500 people officially lived before the war. The settlement was occupied by the Russians in March 2022. It is located on the road from Orikhiv to Tokmak. This logistics hub of the Russian army is about 20 kilometers away from Robotyne.

The village was a powerful defensive point of the Russian invaders on the southern section of the Russian-Ukrainian war front.
