Ukrainian Armor presents the UGV Protector

At the MSPO International Defense Industry Exhibition in Poland, Ukrainian Armor presented the UGV Protector (Unmanned Ground Vehicle).

The ideology of the UGV Protector is said to be the safe execution of dangerous missions.

“While working on this completely new development for our company, we analyzed the experience of the military who are on the front line and work with unmanned ground vehicles. This robot is designed to improve the safety and operational efficiency of military personnel on the battlefield,” CEO Vladyslav Belbas shared.

The platform’s weight can reach up to 4,000 kg, and the 190 hp engine can reach a speed of up to 60 kilometers per hour. It has Stanag 4569 level 1 ballistic protection.

The company said that the UGV Protector can keep in touch with the operator at a distance of more than 15 kilometers. The platform is also integrated into the ICoMWare situational awareness system, which allows for its comprehensive, widespread use on the battlefield.

“We position the UGV Protector primarily as a logistics platform. But it can also be used as a reconnaissance robot, as a platform that transports and launches drones from a dangerous location, for evacuating the wounded, for transporting cargo and ammunition,” the CEO of Ukrainian Armor noted.

According to Belbas, the UGV Protector can also be used as a combat robot, with weapons to destroy enemy armored vehicles or manpower.

He also emphasized that this UGV’s additional advantages include its low price and ability to produce quickly.

Another novelty

At the international defense industry exhibition MSPO 2024 in Kielce, Ukrainian Armor also first presented the Varta 2 armored combat vehicle.

During the development, the company’s designers rethought the niche for the new armored vehicle, allowing it to mount heavy weapons to provide fire support to infantry directly in combat.

“The armored vehicle is equipped with the Sich remote weapon station with a 30mm automatic cannon, which gives it the powerful firepower necessary to support infantry and destroy enemy armored vehicles,” the company reported.
