Ukrainian army captured russian Torn-MDM SIGINT system

The Armed Forces of Ukraine seized the Russian mobile tactical signals intelligence system Torn.

The Militarnyi informs about it.

The photos of the trophy enemy`s system were published on social networks.

​​”Torn is a system designed for search, rapid analysis, and recording of signals in the range of 1.5-3000 MHz, as well as direction finding and location determination. It uses the triangulation method to find the source of signals located in a 70 km radius.”

Torn`s VHF range is up to 30 km, and the HF range is 70 km.

Only trained professionals can operated this system.

Therefore, there is a possibility that besides capturing the costly systems of the enemy, qualified russian servicemen were neutralized.
