Later, a video of the strike from a reconnaissance drone camera was released. The Dnipro Osint project detailed that the strike had been carried out on one of the high-rise buildings on the eastern outskirts of the settlement.
Given the small distance of the settlement from the line of contact, it can be assumed that the strike was carried out with guided aerial bombs, in particular, American JDAMs or French AASMs could have been used.
The NOELREPORTS media outlet published a photo on its X-account of the completely destroyed entrance of the high-rise building that housed the command post of the 2nd Army.
The number of killed and wounded Russian servicemen remains unknown.
Strikes on the command centers of the invasion forces
On January 8, Militarnyi reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had conducted a precision strike on the command post of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation.
The command center was located in the village of Khartsyzk in the temporarily occupied part of the Donetsk region.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine took all necessary measures to minimize risks to civilians. The General Staff did not disclose the location of the Russian headquarters.
The Russian media MASH in Donbas published a video from the spot where one of the shells fell. Despite the video’s partial blurring, the impact’s probable location was identified using the area’s characteristic elements.
The recording was made on Filatova Street between the Khartsyzk Pipe Plant and Stalkanat-Silur enterprises near a multi-story administrative building (plant management).
