The 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade, named after Prince Kostyantyn Ostrozky, repulsed a motorcycle assault by the invaders near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, in the Bakhmut sector.

This was reported on the 30th Brigade official Telegram channel.

During the battle, 8 out of 14 attacking motorcycles were destroyed.

“A motorized assault on the positions of the 30th Brigade on the E-40 highway. The attackers used 10 to 14 motorcycles, 8 of which were destroyed along with the riders,” the brigade said.

The attack was detected in advance by aerial reconnaissance, and artillery was used to strike the advancing forces.

The video shows that some motorcycles were destroyed on the approach, but some managed to reach the trench. However, the attackers could not withstand the fire of the Defense Forces and had to retreat.

Motorcycle assault tactics have gained popularity among the Russian military. The main task of such units is to quickly approach Ukrainian positions and jump into trenches. The speed and maneuverability of motorcycles provide some protection against both FPV drones and conventional weapons.

Such tactics are used both for motorcycle assaults and in combination with mechanized attacks. However, if such a group is detected in time, they suffer very heavy losses from the fire of the Defense Forces.

In July 2024, a soldier of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade managed to defeat the invader in a sniper duel in the Donetsk region. The fight was captured on video.

The first shot was made by a Russian and almost hit the Ukrainian soldier from a distance of 1240 meters. The second shot in the duel was made by a Ukrainian sniper, but he missed on the first attempt.

To eliminate the invader, the Ukrainian military used armor-piercing ammunition of the .338 Lapua Magnum caliber. This round has become the main sniper cartridge for military shooters at medium and long distances.

“And it is this sniper pair of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that will later receive a unique rifle, all the necessary equipment and transportation as part of the Wrath of the Pure,” the Come Back Alive Foundation said.
