Combat medics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine exchanged experience with their NATO counterparts.

The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on this.

The working meeting with the participation of officials of the Ministry of Defense, the Medical Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and military units was held for the first time under the organization of the NATO Committee of Chiefs of Military Medical Services and the NATO Military Medicine Center of Excellence at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

It is reported that more than 100 participants from 17 NATO Allies and partner countries came together to review and analyze observations related to medical support for military operations in current and past conflicts and wars.

Representatives of partner countries provided valuable information and participated in all discussions, noting the relevance of the direct experience of recent conflicts.

Ukraine’s experience was at the center of all the discussions – from helping the wounded to logistics, evacuation, and rehabilitation in the context of hostilities that involve the active use of various types of UAVs.

The results of the working meeting will directly influence NATO’s medical doctrine and training paradigms to improve readiness, resilience, and collective defense.

They will also be integrated into NATO’s operational standards and educational frameworks, strengthening the Alliance’s medical response capabilities.

Militarnyi previously reported that five rehabilitation hospitals are to be equipped in Ukraine with the financial support of the North Atlantic Alliance.

The funding is provided under the Recovery program. Repairs are already underway at one of the hospitals in the Kyiv region.

In February, it was reported that Ukraine and the North Atlantic Alliance will establish a joint training center in the Polish city of Bydgoszcz.

This center will allow Ukraine to share the experience it gained during the Russian-Ukrainian war and will create a structure that will enable the Armed Forces of Ukraine to learn and train side by side with NATO partners.
