Ukrainian Defense Industry Plans Increase in FPV Drone Parts Manufacturing

The Ukrainian defense industry will increase production of spare parts for FPV drones.

The Ukrainian company VYRIY Drone assures that local companies have already launched the production of some important components for FPV drones.

VYRIY Drone drones have a Ukrainian frame, speed controller, flight controller, control board, initiation board, fuse, and antennas.

However, this Ukrainian drone manufacturer still has to buy Chinese analog video transmitters and engines.

VYRIY Drone said that they plan to switch to Ukrainian-made digital video transmitters in September 2024.

“Cameras are becoming less of a priority, and in the near future, drones will switch to a homing system,” said VYRIY Drone founder Oleksii Babenko.

The company hopes to buy Ukrainian-made engines starting in September 2024.

The company is switching to drones with homing. This includes thermal imaging guidance in the dark and daylight guidance in the light.

Such drones are supplied with ground stations, airborne, or ground-based repeaters.

The transition of FPV drones to homing involves the insertion of a special computer that processes the video itself, captures the target selected by the operator, and hits it.

“This removes the human factor and the factor of electronic warfare,” the company said.

The company has also developed a large FPV drone capable of dropping anti-tank mines on the enemy.
