Ukrainian drone blows up invaders’ crossing point in Luhansk region
Ukrainian defenders destroyed a pontoon crossing of the Russian invaders in Luhansk region using a drone.
The video was published by the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is reported that the enemy ferry had been destroyed by the operators of the 412th ‘NEMESIS’ Separate Battalion of Unmanned Systems.
The released footage shows a heavy bomber drone flying up to the crossing and dropping an anti-tank mine on it, which detonated after a delay of several seconds.
The powerful explosion was recorded by a Ukrainian drone on its camera, thus confirming the results of the combat mission.
It is noted that the enemy used this pontoon crossing to deliver reinforcements and ammunition in the Luhansk sector.
Last month, the operators of the 14th Separate Battalion of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles of the Unmanned Systems Forces directed Ukrainian rocket artillery at a convoy of the Russian trucks.
It is reported that the enemy’s convoy of vehicles stopped at the edge of the road, and the Russians did not disperse their vehicles, but rather clustered them. Thus, the likelihood of their successful defeat by the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ firepower has increased significantly.
Judging by the released footage, both cluster and conventional ammunition were used to strike the enemy’s concentration.
On September 16, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed a law granting the Unmanned Systems Forces the status of a separate branch of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The intention to create a separate branch of the Armed Forces to deal with drones was first announced on February 6, 2024. Back then, Zelenskyi instructed the Cabinet of Ministers, with the involvement of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to work on the creation of the Unmanned Systems Forces as a separate branch of the Armed Forces.
The main task of the new forces is to interact with existing unmanned systems units, support them, strengthen them, and build their capabilities.
