Ukrainian forces destroyed a record number of kamikaze drones during the night attack

On the night of May 28, Russian forces launched an attack with Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones. This time, 54 UAVs were deployed.

The forces of the Air Commands South and West were also involved in repelling the attack.

Mykola Oleschuk, Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, noted that this was a record number of drones destroyed by Ukrainian forces. The majority of them were hit in the Kyiv region.

“Only the ruins remained from the “gifts” of the invaders for the Kyiv Day!” Mykola Oleschuk added.

The Kyiv City Military Administration announced the consequences of the attack on the capital. Casualties and destruction have been reported.

One person was reported dead, and two were injured.

In particular, debris hit a 7-story non-residential building in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, and there was also a fire on the roof of the mall and on the construction site.

There was also a fire on the territory of the enterprise in the Holosiivskyi district. Warehouses with products caught fire and destruction was recorded on an area of 1,000 square meters.

In addition, a fire was recorded on the house roof in the Pecherskyi district, which started due to the debris impact.
