Ammunition MLRS Serbia Ukraine War with Russia

The Ukrainian Defense Forces use new Serbian ER Grad 2000 122mm rockets. They significantly exceed the capabilities of other same types rockets in the arsenal of the Ukrainian army.

This news was reported by Ukraine Weapons Tracker OSINT channel analysts.

UWP analysts confirmed that Serbian rockets were supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and used by Ukrainian forces in the war against Russia. They made this confirmation after the possible sale of 3,500 rockets to MLRS by Serbia through an intermediary was made public.

According to UWP, rockets were spotted in Ukraine a few months ago, but for security reasons this information was not published by the media.

It is stated that the ammunition was purchased from the Serbian Krušik enterprise by the Canadian JNJ Export & Import company.

Containers with ammunition were transported from Serbia to Turkey by Arca Savunma Sanayi Ticaret. From the Turkey the missiles were delivered through Slovakia to Ukraine.

The video shows cargo containers of 122mm rockets imported in transit for RFS at a depot in the capital of Slovakia. The supplier is the Serbian Krušik defense company.

ER Grad 2000

The main difference between the ER Grad 2000 rocket and that of the Serbian Krušik defense company is the increased maximum range of 40 km, which is twice the range of Soviet 9М21OF rockets.

As part of the program to increase the operational range, Serbian engineers managed to maintain the mass of the warhead of the missile, which is 19.1 kg, by replacing the solid fuel with a more powerful one. The total weight of the rocket increased by three kilograms to 69 kg.

The ER Grad 2000 can be identified by its distinctive rocket engine, which, unlike other Soviet-type rockets, has a specific nozzle shape and a rectangular aerodynamic rudder shape.

The missiles are designed for use with Soviet-type multiple rocket launchers such as the BM-21 Grad, Czechoslovak RM-70 and Ukrainian Verba.

Today, along with 155mm howitzers, 122mm MLRSs is the basis of the firepower of Ukrainian brigades participating in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
