Ukrainian Military Adapts Heavy Multicopter to Carry Robot Dog
The Ukrainian military has turned a heavy multicopter into a quadcopter drone carrier.
The corresponding video was posted by the user front_ukrainian on his X account.
In the video, a heavy multicopter resembling the domestic Vampire model is visible, with a quadcopter drone of an unspecified type attached to it.
It is known that the Ukrainian Defense Forces use at least two models of “robodogs”: Unitree Go2 and BAD-2.

This experiment can be explained by the Ukrainian military’s desire to develop means of delivering the latest and most promising reconnaissance vehicle, quadcopters.
The use of a heavy multicopter as a vehicle can help deliver “robosupported vehicles” to hard-to-reach areas, enemy lines, and buildings.
Militarnyi reported in August that soldiers from the Kurt & Company unit of the 28th Separate Brigade used a “robodog” during the battle for the city of Toretsk, Donetsk region.
The quadroids are used for reconnaissance, which is facilitated by their high cross-country ability, speed, and low visibility.
It is worth reminding that the armed forces of various countries have been actively using such drones for quite some time, both in experimental programs and for serious missions.
For example, a few years ago, the United States began using Q-UGV drones developed by Ghost Robotics and Immersive Wisdom to patrol air bases.
Such small and highly mobile drones can be used to perform a wide range of tasks, from reconnaissance and logistics to strike operations.
Their size and advanced motor skills allow them to move quickly and unnoticed, pass through narrow spaces, dense buildings, and dense overgrowth.
In addition, they can be equipped with a variety of modules, such as manipulators, sensors, cameras, or even full-fledged weapons.
