The Ukrainian military captured the first Т-62 tank from the Russian invasion forces. The tank was relatively unscathed.

A photo with trophy equipment was published by Ukrainian war correspondent Andrii Tsaplienko.

Т-62 stayed in storage in Russia until the invaders’ huge loss in equipment during the hostilities on the territory of Ukraine. After that, the army of the aggressor country recalled its arsenal of old weapons.

The Ukrainian military captured an intact Т-62 tank for the first time.

In May2022, the first reports appeared about the sending of Т-62М and Т-62МV tanks to Ukraine.

They were assigned to staff reserve battalion tactical groups that had been formed in preparation for deployment to Ukraine.

In 1962, the Object 165 tank was adopted by the Soviet Army under the designation Т-62А.

In the summer, the Ukrainian military managed to destroy several Russian tanks Т-62.

The retrofitted version of the Т-62 tank with a Sheksna system of guided weapons received the designation Т-62М.

And the improved Т-62М with mounted reactive armour and without additional armored protection of the turret and hull received the designation Т-62МV.

In August 2018, during the Vostok-2018 exercises, the Russian military removed at least several dozen Т-62М and Т-62МV out from storage at the bases in Buryatia.

In 2021, Т-62МV tanks were seen on the territory of the Southern Military District.
