Quadcopters will be used to ensure the operation of humanitarian corridors of civilian evacuation.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported about this.

Today, May 18, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine received 85 DJI Mavic 3 Fly More Combo unmanned aerial vehicles.

They will be used primarily to ensure the reliable and safe operation of humanitarian corridors aimed at evacuating the civilian population of Ukraine from the areas of hostilities.

The drones will also be used to inspect areas where emergencies occur and to execute other tasks in the field of responsibility of the Ukrainian Rescue Service.

Obtaining quadcopters was possible thanks to the initiative of the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine. It made appeals to donors – international organizations – to assist the SES.

Drones will be used to accompany humanitarian corridors, scanning the mined areas without physically engaging units, detecting the mined areas, and monitoring fires in ecosystems.

Currently, in their work, the Ukrainian rescuers are assuming risk no less than servicemen of the Defense Forces.

Last week, the Italian fire and rescue service handed over 45 units of special equipment to Ukrainian rescuers.
