A 12.7 mm Falcon sniper rifle was spotted in the service of the Ukrainian military.

Analysts from Ukraine Weapons Tracker released a video featuring the use of this rifle in Ukraine.

“Only 19 such rifles were officially presented by the Czech Republic to Ukraine at the beginning of the war, which makes them quite rare,” the report said.

At the end of February, the government of Czech Republic approved the supply of additional military aid to Ukraine for €7.5 million.

The Falcon large-caliber rifle is produced by the ZVI enterprise in Czech Republic.

The rifle is designed to fight enemy snipers and damage his lightly armored vehicles. Ground troops and special forces are armed with it for actions against distant targets at a distance of up to 1,600 meters.

It is produced in two modifications — “OP 96” uses the NATO 12.7×99 mm cartridge, while “OP 99” explores the Soviet-developed 12.7×108 mm cartridge.

The Ukrainian servicemen received the “Falcon’s” “OP 99” modification, which uses Soviet cartridges.

The “Falcon” rifle is made according to the bullpup scheme. A Mauser-type bolt, with two massive combat stops at the front and one at the rear.

The magazine is non-removable, for 2 cartridges, can be locked to use the rifle as a single-shot.
