Ukrainian troops launch missile attack on S-300V air defense system in Crimea
The Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a missile attack on the Russian military base near Dzhankoy in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The Russian S-300 air defense system was deployed there.
The military base is located in the village of Novostepove and was hit by ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles in the morning of July 21.
The Eye of Hor Telegram channel published satellite images of the aftermath of the missile strike.
The Russian repair base, which provides repairs to military equipment used in the war in southern Ukraine, was hit.
Analysts of the CyberBoroshno OSINT group, having studied satellite images, concluded that the S-300V air defense system of the Russian invaders was hit in Novostepove.
The Russian SAM was in a deployed state, indicating that it was operational or being restored for further use.
The analysts specified that the S-300V deployed on the territory of the destroyed facility at the Russian military base had consisted of:
- 9S19 Imbir radar;
- three 9A84 self-propelled launchers;
- one 9A83 TELAR.
The next day after the strike, the Russian Astra Telegram channel confirmed that the Russian military base had been hit on July 21 at around 7 a.m.
According to their sources, the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck with four ATACMS missiles. As a result, Russian military equipment that is being repaired was damaged.
In the temporarily occupied Crimea, on the night of July 26, explosions and a fire occurred at night near the Russian Saky military air base near the village of Novofedorivka.
Eyewitnesses among the locals heard the sounds of detonating ammunition after the strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine with ATACMS missiles.
