Ukrainian troops successfully attacked Morozovsk military air base
On the night of August 3, the Ukrainian military attacked the Morozovsk military air base in the Rostov region.
The Ukrainian General Staff said that as a result of the combat operations, they had managed to destroy ammunition depots.
“A hit was recorded in the ammunition depots where guided bombs were stored,” the General Staff reported.
Information regarding the destruction of the Russian air defense and aviation equipment is being clarified.
According to Governor Vasyl Golubev, the Rostov region was allegedly attacked by 55 Ukrainian drones.
“As a result of a massive UAV attack, a number of warehouses in the Kamensky and Morozovsk districts were damaged. The firefighters are extinguishing the fire,” the Russian governor said.
Local residents recorded the attack on the Morozovsk military air base on video.
Also, the FIRMS fire tracking system showed the epicenter of the fire throughout the Russian military air base.
This is not the first Ukrainian attack on Russian military facilities at the Morozovsk air base.
In June of this year, the Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, confirmed that Ukrainian defense and intelligence units had used at least 70 drones to attack the military air base in Morozovsk, Russia.
The Ukrainian military also attacked Morozovsk in April, and before that – in December 2023. The military air base, located in the Rostov region, is the base for dozens of Su-34 frontline bombers.
It is these aircraft that Russia uses to drop guided bombs towards the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukrainian settlements near the frontline and bordering Russia.
