The Ukrainian Defense Forces have used an FPV drone armed with a Kalashnikov 5.45mm assault rifle (AK-74).

The corresponding video was shared by Wild Hornets, the drone manufacturer.

The drone was used to repel an assault by Russian troops in the area of Velyka Novosilka, Donetsk region.

All Russian equipment was destroyed with the help of drones, and the surviving infantry hid in a forest.

The “Queen of Hornets” drone, equipped with an AK-74 rifle, was sent to clear the Russian infantry. The Wild Hornets specified that the invention was designed and tested by fighters of the BULAVA unit.

During the mission, the assault rifle sustained several bullet impacts, but remained operational and continued to fire.

The footage shows that the drone could handle the assault rifle’s recoil during burst firing, allowing the operator to conduct precise shots.

It is worth reminding that the same unit has already installed a Bulspike-AP grenade launcher on the “Queen of Hornets.”

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have already experimented with installing small arms on multicopter drones.

In particular, photos of a DJI Agras T30 drone with a PKM 7.62mm machine gun and a Bullspike anti-tank grenade launcher were shared online.

In addition, it was reported that Russian engineers are experimenting with the installation of anti-tank missile systems on the platforms of unmanned aerial vehicles.

At the time, the video showed the takeoff and landing of a drone armed with the 9K111 Fagot anti-tank missile system, as well as a shot from it.
