The Ukrainian Ukrspecsystems unveiled the SHARK UAV, which is resistant to electronic warfare.

The press service of Ukrspecsystems shared the details of the new UAV on its social media pages.

The developers share that the idea of creating this reconnaissance UAV came to be after the start of the full-scale invasion. Work on the system, from the project design to the first flight, was done within less than half a year. Among other things, SHARK is equipped with secure encrypted communication and a camera with 30x optical zoom and additional digital zoom.

“The development of the new drone was actually executed already during the full-scale invasion as an operational response of our company to the challenges and needs of the Ukrainian military. This is another proof of the toughness and invincibility of the Ukrainian people because we are able to create world-class high-tech products under such difficult conditions!” the Ukrspetssystems said.

According to the developers, SHARK UAV is fully ready for use in combat conditions. This UAV is specifically designed for penetration into territories temporarily controlled by the enemy through conducting deep aerial reconnaissance and adjusting, among others, Western long-range weapons, in particular, the American HIMARS artillery rocket system.

SHARK is utmostly optimized for modern warfare and the needs of the military. It provides high-quality in-depth reconnaissance, tracking, adjustment of fire, and the ability to locate the enemy in real-time and fix his movements. In general, the UAV monitors the battlefield and manages the actions of the unit, considering the current situation.

“The drone is equipped with a highly reliable communication module and a modern camera system that allows to go deep into the enemy’s rear (up to 60 km) and conduct surveillance at a distance of up to 5 km between the UAV and the object. This is especially important when planning and conducting offensive operations, and for predicting the actions of the enemy,” the developers said.

The company also emphasized that a sufficient number of high-quality reconnaissance UAVs means saving the lives of our servicemen and allows fighters to put less risk to their lives to obtain valuable information behind enemy lines.

Specifications of the SHARK UAV:

  • The flight time – over 2 hours
  • The communication range – 60 km
  • The service ceiling – 2000 m
  • Take-off weight — 10 kg
  • Wingspan — 1.91 m
  • Deployment time — 15 minutes
  • Operating temperature — between -15 C and +50 C
  • The encryption method — AES256
  • Cruising speed — 70-90 km/h
  • The maximum flight speed – 150 km/h
  • Dumping speed — 60 km/h

The new UAV by Ukrspecsystems is equipped with a Full HD optical-electronic surveillance system. This is an electro-optical sensor with 30x optical zoom and additional digital zoom. The drone takes off by a catapult and lands with a parachute.

A drone of this type is likely already used by the Ukrainian military. In the summer, the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation announced that it was buying a SHARK unmanned aerial vehicle for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine require different drones.” The Foundation purchased two new drones with a “specific functionality”, Serhiy Prytula shared on his Facebook page.
