The new $1.1 billion US military aid package to Ukraine may include 18 M142 HIMARS rocket systems.

According to the sources of the AP News, the package includes funding for rocket systems and ammunition for them.

The AP also notes that the new aid is aimed at meeting Ukraine’s long-term defense needs, so it may take a couple years before the systems are received.

The package provides financing for about 300 vehicles, dozens of trucks and trailers for transporting heavy equipment.

Also a variety of radars, communications and surveillance equipment and other equipment for soldiers, as well as explosives detection and maintenance and training equipment.

The package includes 12 Titan systems, which are used to counter drones.

As previously reported, the United States is preparing a new US $1.1 billion arms package for Ukraine.

In early September, the United States announced a new $675 million package of military aid to Ukraine to counter the Russian invasion.

It included additional ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) and four 105-mm howitzers, as well as 36,000 105mm artillery rounds.

In total, the United States has provided more than $16 billion in military aid to Ukraine for its fight against Russia.

The US M142 HIMARS rocket systems carry six GMLRS rockets or one MGM-140 ATACMS missile.

The high mobility artillery rocket system is designed to attack the areas of concentration of artillery systems, anti-aircraft and fire support means, cargo transport, combat vehicles, and armored personnel carriers, as well as to provide fire support to its units and means of support.
